Catherine Ford is a British actress born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father's divorce from her household, the actress was grew up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. When she was a little girl, she was diagnosed with an obsessive compulsive disorder. She also experienced anxiety due to the word"association. Ford began acting during her teens and became part of the National Youth Theatre. She gained admission to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, however, she decided after one week that she would not be a good for the school. Ford applied instead at the Central School of Speech and Drama and eventually secured the position she wanted on her third attempt. Shaun Dingwall would play Pete Tyler, a regular character in Doctor Who. Ford was able to graduate in 1993. She made her television debut on a show in 1992 called Surgical Spirit. She adopted the name Catherine Tate. In the Nineties, Tate could be found on TV in shows like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning. Apart from her regular stage work, Tate was a part of in the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000-2001. But Tate soon began to garner recognition for her stand-up comedic performances that she incorporated into her show in 1996.
